Mooncub yawned, her eyes only just getting accustomed to the dark. She yelped, as she was hungry for her mother's milk. "Shhh," her mother growled, softly. "But, mum, I'm hungry!" she whimpered. "Mooncub, you must learn to wait until dawn!" her mother said. "Alright, I'll try and get some sleep," Mooncub said gloomily. But after she was sure that her mother was asleep, she crept out of her nest, slipping silently between her brothers and sisters. And with that, she trotted out of the nursery and bounded out of the camp. She crept around silently, trying to catch some prey.
She waggled her hindquarters, ready to spring, but before that, she heard a ferocious growling sound. A fox had come up to her. It got ready to attack, baring its teeth and Mooncub fled for the nursery, running for her life. She howled, "A fox! A fox! Help! Attack!" She bounded into the camp, the fox still following her. She raced into the nursery. "Mum! Mum!" she yelped. Her mother leaped up at once, and so did everyone else. The fox realized it was outnumbered, and it fled the camp.
