4U vs 4U+

Which one is more affordable? I mean which costs less with the accessories and all?

Also, does the 4U+ read touch cards and can one decorate it with a custom made or bought faceplate, like the 4U?

I know that the 4U+ is way more expensive and considering the fact that it's not much of fresh stuff added into it, is it worth buying rather than a normal 4U?

I, after seeing all these cute pics on Instagram, came to want a 4U myself. Up until a few days ago I thought I'd never ever need an expense such as a 4U. But they tempt me, and because I have no set Christmas present yet, I have a chance of getting one. But which version is better? Please help me...

Yes, the 4U+ can read touch cards and you can decorate it with faceplates.

Also if you want a 4U+ you can buy a brand new one at CDJapan for 50$ (shipping included), this is a very reliable japanese shopping website (but in English), I buy my CDs there for years and never had any problems.

I don't own a 4U or a 4U+ myself but after what I've seen, the 4U+ is basically an upgraded 4U, with new characters and features so I would recommend the 4U+.

I personally prefer the 4U because it has better built-in games in my opinion, but most other people say the 4U Plus is better.

One thing to note is that the new characters [Candy Pakupaku and Lovesoratchi] can only be unlocked via NFC connections so if you were mostly looking to buy it for the new characters but unable to do that, go for the 4U.

At this point, there is absolutely NO REASON to buy the 4U over the 4U+ unless you only like white tamagotchis.

To unlock the new features, you need to preform random connections, which entails the 4U+ coming in contact with a NFC field while idle. Almost all modern Android smartphones, even if they can't actually transfer items to the tama, can activate a random connection. Apparently, even a New3DS can activate a random connection.
