4U App Connection

I got the 4U a few days ago and so far I've been having a blast with it!

I saw the 4U App ( https://mrblinky.net/tama/4u/app/ ) which has a butt ton of DLCs but looking at the list of compatible phones, mine is a SM-G900I (Galaxy S5). Regardless, I tried it to see for myself and the phone screen image would not become small at all.

But just now, I had my phone on my home screen only. No app opened. When I placed the 4U to the back of my phone, it managed to connect and give me a slot machine minigame and some different sceneries. I ended up getting some Oyajitchi posters(???) and a 50% coupon.

My question is; if my phone can't download items from the 4U app, how can it connect with the Tamagotchi if I just placed it back to back to trigger a slot machine game and the likes?

I guess the only way for the 4U app to work is to get a compatible device :/

4U itself can interact with any kind of NFC device, even Wii U/N3DS when it's looking for Amiibos.You can unlock some minor stuff this way. It's just the app that can't send stuff to the tamagotchi if the phone doesn't have a specific sony-based kind of NFC.

That makes sense. Still sucks though

I thought somewhat top of the line phones would be able to interact with it. Guess not
