I think OP is referring to the coloured outlines that the Pastel Meets and Fantasy Meets / Wonder Garden ON have which also seem to make the Tamas look like they're glowing. Unfortunately, as far as I know, these can only be obtained on these versions, and cannot be inherited on other versions ...

Why all the resetting? x_X Anyway, for rechargeables, did you try getting them online? I got mine from Amazon. I went for the white Eneloops, and they haven't given me any problems whatsoever :)  It cost me something like 50 Euros for a pack of 8 and a charger including shipping  :)
