Lots of people make / buy soft covers for them. If you don't want to buy something online, I've always found soft baby's socks good at protecting them and good value.

Welcome back.  The site's changed quite a bit over the years, but it's still visited regularly by tamagotchi and virtual pet fans from all over (some of them were probably active when you used to visit as well but may have changed their user names too)  :)

I think owning and caring for a tamagotchi taught my kids that virtual pets were a lot easier than real pets and they understood that if they could keep their tamagotchi alive it definitely didn't mean they were capable of looking after a real pet. They've both had tamas, hamsters...
