Hi, I'm Not Actually New

I had an account called kuchikid that I made like 15 years ago, but when I recently logged in, it said my account was locked and to check my emails to have it reinstated.

Yeah... I haven't used that account in so long that Microsoft deleted it. So here I am. So hi (again).

Anyhow, here's my collection:

Probably since 2004. I think that's when I got my first Tamagotchi V1.

Kuchikid, welcome back! We were in a group hatch together; the Back to School Hatch if you remember. I never finished my log there, ha ha... although that's not a good thing.

Nice collection! You've got a nice mix of Tamagotchi eras and also it's nice to see you got the 2-pack connection rerelease. I just got the same set today and I'm running them too!

I do remember! I have a tendency to phase in and out of Tamagotchi obsession. How do you like the rerelease so far?

So far, I'm really enjoying them! I also look forward to discovering the new things added to the programming. The rereleases are definitely making me happy by default for being a literal connection release - and in physical stores too! Connections are perhaps one of the best Tama era because they have a ton of characters and unique animations. Also, I get a little bit of nostalgia since the V3 was my first tama and these rereleases borrow a lot from that model - it was great to feed a tama built-in sushi again!

I do also see the Keitai branch influence in the connection item exclusive minigames, alphabet extras, evolution money, and c-click animations (probably more will pop up). I just bought my Pink Graffiti shell a rice ball from the shop and that's such a nice Japanese touch

I connected my two together and the connection animations are really nice and there's even one where they dance to a little tune.

I do have some complaints, however. I wish they kept the screen where the newly hatched tama sits there and cries while showing the gender of the baby. It went by too fast for me and I was at the naming screen without knowing whether I was naming a boy or a girl (so I just named the baby the gender-neutral Nagisa/NAGSA). Then the promotional password to unlock the pencil demanded I pay for the pencil instead of being free. They also took out the easily overlooked heartbeat feature where the tama would make soft little beeps mimicking a heartbeat. I did try connection the rereleases to my Hanerutchi but - as I should have suspected - they could not connect. That one's understandable.

What do you think of the rereleases? Do they feel nostalgic to you?

@Knighttchi's Ballad I don't like that they don't show the baby's gender, either, but fortunately that's only an issue with the first generation. Same with the pencil thing. It was surprising to me, because I bought a Tamagotchi as a gift for a friend (the translucent one) that came with a code for a waffle, and the waffle was free.

One thing to watch out for if you're like me: when your Tamagotchi has a baby, if you set the time to midnight to have the parent leave... the time becomes unchangeable until 8AM. In fact, you can't even press A or C until the baby wakes up the next morning. So don't try to feel this model like you could the original V3.

That's so weird the codes are inconsistent unless they wanted items to be expensive and food to be cheap.

Thanks for the tip! I wonder if this might have an impact on keeping the parent around by setting the time to after midnight so they don't leave. Though, that sounds like it will be locked in till the next day.
Seeing the vendor show up on my Connections like he did on my Keitai versions makes me curious what else is in store on these versions.
