When someone adds a bit onto a team story, they can control all the characters if they wish to.
Example of a team story.
Member_1: Once upon a time there were two young memetchis. They were very pretty, and they both had a crush on the young mametchi next door. Every morning they peeked out their window, wait to see when young mametchi would leave for school, so they could walk with him. Young mametchi, on the other hand thought both young memetchis were just silly girls. The only reason he allowed them to hang around him was because they could draw well, and helped him in his art homework.
Member_2: Then one day one of the young memetchis decided to play a trick on her sister, and told her that young mametchi was ill, so they didn't have to wait for him. They left for school a bit earlier than usual. About half way to school, she suddenly "remembered" she'd left a piece of homework at home. She told her sister to go ahead without her, while she went back to get it. Of course she didn't forget anything at home. She got back just as young mametchi was closing his front door. Her plan had worked. She got to walk to school with young mametchi all by herself.
Member_3: But when they got to school the other young memetchi saw what had happened and got very angry. While the girls were fighting, young mametchi noticed young flowertchi on the other side of the playground and ...

In a role play, usually each person takes on the role of one of the characters in the story, controlling only that character.
Example of a role play.
Member_1: young memetchi 1: "Sister, is he leaving yet?"
Member_2: young memetchi 2: *peeking out the window* "No.... Yes! There he goes. Let's go catch up with him." *they run out the door*
Member_3: young mametchi: *rolls eyes* "hello girls"
Member_1: young memetchi 1: *batting eyelashes* "hello there"
Member_2: young memetchi 2: *elbowing young memetchi 1 out of the way* "good morning young mametchi"
