I am wondering how much longer it will be until my current tama 'dies' and i get a new egg. She is currently 13 yrs old and has a friend with all the smiley faces.

The oldest Tamagotchi character I've ever heard of was Aaron, raised on a V3 by Kyliesmum. He died at age 145, on Aug 7, 2006. You can read all about it here: https://www.blogagotchi.com/kyliesmum2/

If you can find another oldie of the opposite gender, you can mate them.

I'm sure they keep living as long as you take care of them. And of course, they'll die if you neglect them.

Currently, my oldie is 34 years old and still going. She gets hungry quicker than teens/adults, and there was even one morning I didn't have school that I woke up late, and it had two piles of poopy on the screen and no hungry hearts whatsoever and a skull floating above her head after I cleaned the poopy, but she was still alive. Her eyes were blanking out, but after I fed her and took care of her, she was fine.

Or it could be that mine just doesn't want to die. ^_^

but the limit's 99 i thought
Actually the number won't go higher than 99. But they can live pretty long as you can take good care of them ^_^ , Yet as Binary, and li_meiling stated.
