“Katrina, maybe you should take the story now.” She said.
“Alrighty…” I said.
“We met June the next day at lunch, and then we talked to Claire and Mandy if they wanted to help us start a Webkinz Club. Claire was cool with it, because she considers her Webkinz part of her family, but Mandy was kind of nervous about it. I told Mandy not to be nervous about it, because we were going to have a great time.
The club meetings started with a first meeting that Saturday. It was in my bedroom, and Selena was sleeping over anyway.
I let Jason do his own thing to make Claire and Mandy a bit more comfortable.
“I say we make some rules.” I said.
“Wow, that came out dorky.” Selena laughed.
“Well, we should.” June said.
“Rule one, we are family and we stick together.” Claire said.
“Rule two, for now, this club is a secret until we figure this out.” Mandy said.
“Rule three, no scamming each other for Webkinz, accounts, or special Webkinz items.” June said.
“Rule four, no bashing Webkinz.” I said.
“Rule five, respect each other.” Selena said.
“I think that’s enough. Right now, I say we free write a little about Webkinz, just to get some thoughts out for this club.” I said.
“Wow…” Selena said.
“SHUT IT!” I interrupted.
I knew she was kidding, but I wanted her to shut up about that.
I gave each girl two pieces of lined paper, and a pencil. We each wrote down our thoughts.
The girls stayed for about half an hour, which I didn’t mind because we just got started.
After they all left, Selena and I reviewed their writings.
June wrote about how she loves her Webkinz Charm necklace and how she has every charm in the real world and online.
Claire wrote about her family issues, and how her Webkinz helped her through that.
Mandy wrote of how she is afraid to tell people about her Webkinz. She says that everybody thinks Webkinz are babyish. She said that the last time she told someone that she played Webkinz, it was her friend. She called her a baby and stopped being her friend. And ever since…yeah.
I handed her writing to Selena.
“We have a club issue.” I said.
“You bet we do.” She said.”
