I decided to let Selena take the story first.
[SIZE=10pt]“[/SIZE]Just to let you know. This story is about how the three of us discovered that Webkinz brings people together.
This story starts in school, a month after our fathers left, and this was recently after Katrina and I talked about our father’s departures.
Later that day, we had an idea. But you know what took us to that idea?
First, in the hallway, we saw Claire open up her locker, where on the top shelf, there lied a Webkinz Collie, a Lil’ Black Poodle Webkinz, and a Lil’ White Poodle Webkinz. And on a magnetic frame, she had a trading card of a free Lil’ Kinz Tiger (with the secret code censored, of course).
We said “Hi” to her and went to our lockers, which were conveniently right next to each other.
While we were there, we saw Mandy open up her locker, and then a Webkinz Yellow Lab fell out. Katrina quickly picked up the Webkinz, and handed it back to her. Mandy looked mortified.
I said “It’s ok.” And then I showed her Pearl.
She smiled and said “Cool. I’ll give you my username later. Is that ok?”
Then I said “That’d be awesome.”
Later, we saw June tie her hair back, and from the back of her neck, we saw a familiar little rectangle…
I went up to June, and whispered “Hey, is that a Webkinz Charm Necklace?”
“Oh my god! How did you know?” she said.
“Katrina!” I called to her.
“Yeah?” she said.
As soon as she got over, I grabbed her wrist, and showed June Katrina’s Webkinz Charm Bracelet, and I made sure the part that said “Webkinz” was showing.
“You play too?” June said.
“Yep!” I said.
“Cool! Meet me at lunch. We’ll exchange usernames!” June whispered.
“We’ll be there!” Katrina said.
We met June at lunch and exchanged usernames.
“Do you know anybody else who plays Webkinz?” June said.
“Claire, Mandy, and Katrina’s little brother, Jason.” I said.
“What if we started a Webkinz club?” Katrina said.
“I’m diggin’ it.” June said.
“Yeah!” I said. “And we never had this conversation…”
